Gary loved and adored trains and train sets. During the height of his career and while he was on the show Diff’rent Strokes, Gary’s adoptive parents Willie and Sue Coleman got him a train set that was made to go around his whole bedroom. But this was not just any old train set. It was humongous.
Here’s a photo of Gary on the cover of Railroad Model Magazine (1990) when he was around 22 years old. Gary always looked much younger than his actual age; here he looks no older than 15. He’s also smiling. It was happy times for Gary! The caption reads: “Gary Coleman’s Rio Grande!”
